PARGE® is a flexible system and versatile workbench for parametric ortho-rectification of airborne scanner data. The following features are included:
Compatibility
- consistent and open data structure for any airborne imaging instruments,
- support for whiskbroom, pushbroom, and any non-standard / tilted sensor model,
- import filters for standard hyperspectral file formats (e.g., AVIRIS, HyMap, DAIS, Rosis, MIVIS, Specim AISA, NEO HYSPEX, Resonon Pika, Headwall Hyperspec®),
- import and synchronization capabilities for attitude and GPS navigation data,
- DEM standard import, resizing, and resampling options,
- fully IDL (Interactive Data Language, Exelis Inc.) based and therefore operating system independent application, and
- outputs to standard ENVIª (Exelis Inc.) file formats.
Auxiliary data functions
- consideration of sensor attitude and navigation data by image line,
- coordinate conversion (includes standard conversion to common coordinate systems and local datums),
- exact correction of roll, pitch and true heading distortions,
- ground control point (GCP) based algorithms for boresight calibration,
- options for flightpath approximation, roll/pitch interpolation, or drift correction from GCPs, and
- options for roll compensation, and roll-based data stream post-synchronization.
Processing options
- orthorectification algorithm for flat or rugged terrain,
- output to arbitrary resolution and extent,
- processing of dual sensor systems to common reference grid,
- optional output to rotated coordinate system according to flight direction,
- mosaicking of rectified outputs,
- inverse transformation capability (for DEM transformation to scan geometry),
- variety of resampling options for cartographic cube generation (selection of nearest neighbour or bilinear interpolation methods),
- batch processing support through the availability of an open data format and scripting environment,
- optional scan angle outputs of sensor zenith, sensor azimuth, and pixel distance for BRDF processing and atmospheric correction,
- ENVI image geometry map (IGM) and geolocation table (GLT) output,
- tiled processing for large datasets, and
- RGB/grayscale visualization image creation (TIFF/JPEG/ENVI)
Supporting Abilities
- quality control tools for geometric and radiometric accuracy,
- comprehensable workbench interface,
- history tracking and batch-logfile storage,
- processing status management with the ability to store, restore and view the current progress of work,
- on-line help system and detailed user manual,
- web-based support and upgrading option, and
- various preview and display options.
Technical Requirements
- IDL Version 8.4 and higher or ENVIª developer version 5.2 or free IDL Virtual Machine
- ENVIª license recommended, but not a condition,
- Linux, Windows, or MacOSX (recommended: Linux 64bit system)
- RAM: 6-10 times size of processed image array allocated to IDL, and
- Disk: size of output * (number of bands + 6) for geocoded cube output (assuming integer data type of input imagery).
Support and Customizing
- Introduction of user specified sensors and data formats is possible by
specific filters
(Please contact ReSe for further information on how to introduce your sensor into PARGE®), - Support includes updates, bug fixes and e-mail support for fully licensed users.
